I have seen that mostly topical antiinflammatory drops are used after the cataract surgery to treat the pain and inflammation. My question is that if the patient can bear the pain and wants to avoid the drops , is it possible? Can the inflammation heal naturally or it rather causes any complication. Apart from this, i am personally very sensitive to oral nsaids, even one tablet of ibuprofen causes severe gastritis in stomach in spite of taking it with antacid . So does instillation of nsaids in form of eye drops harm me in a similar way resulting in tissue damage?
