Post operative sensitivity is common especially after deep fillings have been placed. Many factors can cause these and it is a widely studies topic. I always warn my patient of sensitivity up to 2 weeks after a deep filling. If they are not resolved, the type of filling may be replaced with new ones. Depending on the proximity to the nerve, you may eventually require root canal treatment.
