Kindly visit or get a consultation with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to rule out any postcovid complication. Mekena maybe die to anything.  If there is any intestinal bleeding,  pain killers should be taken with caution.  Do not get advise online. Kindly ask his physician for  safe painkillers until he can see a dentist
Health Tips

Do visit your dentist soon, specially if he has been on steroids therapy during covid treatment. It is because tooth ache is also a sign of black fungus. Do not panic just go as a routine dental checkup
Health Tips
don't forget to give history of covid treatment and medications given at that time

You can tell him to keep the oral cavity clean by warm saline mouth rinses frequently. Give him paracetamol. For further medications you need to visit your dentist or consult practo online for the medications which can be given after seeing the condition.
