There is a solution - LASER ASSISTED TONSILLAR ABLATION. Here, about 3mm of the surface of the tonsils are vaporised by the LASER. This eliminates the deep crypts turning them into mild dimples which cannot trap ingested food. The heat of the LASER also coagulates the tonsil tissue remnants which will also render them sterile. About 10 days postoperatively when you have a rebook, the surrounding squamous mucosa would have completely migrated and covered the tonsil remnants and they will resemble virgin uninfected tonsils. Even trained ENT Surgeons may not realise that these were operated tonsils!
Next Steps
I have been routinely doing this procedure for the last 15 years. You are welcome to drop into my clinic in Bangalore and meet me.

It's Keratosis of tonsil. Tonsillar keratosis is characterized by appearance of multiple white projections from cryptal orifices of the tonsil, lymph follicles, the posterior and the lateral pharyngeal walls, posterior part of the tongue and glosso-epiglottic fold. Aetiology: Usually affects young adults.
Next Steps
Treatment: If asymptomatic no treatment required. Antiseptic gargles help empirically. Horny masses can be removed by electrocautery. Three to four masses may be treated at each sitting at weekly intervals. Tonsillectomy is advised for chronic cases.
