Thyroid (weight gain)

Hello Doctor, I have thyroid from 2011 and im taking thyroid tablets regularly,i have gained weight and im doing exercise an hour daily and still the weight is not reduced. Kindly tell what are all the things i should eat and not to reduce my weight. Tablets which im taking is= 1.abdifer 2.oxcal 250 mg. 3.thyrox 125 mg. Will i have the thyroid for life long.

your condition is hypo(less)thyrodism

in this condition your body's dose not produce or can't use  enough thyroid hormone WHICH CAUSES METABOLISM because of this your weight remains normal. so ,simple in deficiency of thyroid hormone will increase your weight. yes, hypothyroidism remains for  life time.

If you have autoimmune hypothyroid disease then you need thyroid supplement life long...get your thyroid profile 3 monthly to adjust the dosage and your weight will be controlled

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  What you have is hypothyroidism. In hypothyroidism there will be increase in your weight. Hypothyroidism is a life long disorder and you will have to take tablets lifelong.
