My Aunt has Left lobe of thyroid gland  swollened, doctor has recommended to partially remove thyroid gland (left lobe). However functioning of thyroid gland appears to be normal. Surgery name : Hemithyroidectomy Doctor has prescribed above surgery, i have attached ultrasound thyroid scan report ..is surgery mandatory ?  please check the report and suggest Thanks
