Thick cord along penile shaft

I have noticed a thick cord like structure, along the shaft of my penis, which runs from the base until below the glans. It isn't painful at all, palpable and more visible in a flaccid penis. Should I worry about it ? Is it a vein or something else, because it's lot thicker than a usual vein. If it's a medical condition what is the recommendation?
