Test to find Allergic substance

2025-10-26 01:11:13
I've had cold and sneezing issues since childhood (20+ years). The problem disappeared after I moved to a metro city, but it returns whenever I visit my native place. Is this an allergy?  Can you help identify the allergic substance causing this? which specific test shall I do?

Hello I'm Dr Nikita Iyer. Yes, this seems like an allergic episode. In order to isolate the trigger, you can get a skin prick test done. Serum IgE and total eosinophil count can help identify the severity of the allergy.
Next Steps
Once the allergen is identified, specific steps to avoid exposure can be taken.
Health Tips
Avoid prolonged usage of cetrizine though it can cause initial symptomatic relief. Nasal sprays can be started when visiting your native place to ease the allergic symptoms
