My brother has been taking Janumet 50/500 mg tablet for about 6 months(twice a day) as he is type 2 diabetic. Just want to know if this tablet is safe for long run or should he consult doctor to decrease the mg of the tablet?

It is a safe medication. However, he must get his glucose readings done once in 3-4 months and get it reviewed with the doctor so that adequate changes will be made if needed.
