Symptoms of PCOD

When I was 15 I gained a lot of weight and had severe hair loss and acne and facial hair. I never once missed my period cycle . The weight and acne diminished once I turned 18. Now I'm 23 and the acne is back. Do I have PCOD? I do have PMS .

Acne may or may not be related to PCOD.  As long as your cycles are regular, weight is under control, hair loss is less you need not worry about PCOD. You need to do Ultrasound of pelvis. Many have cysts in ovaries without symptoms.  It's okay.

It is likely to be PMS, but to confirm on PCOD you may have to undergo an ultrasound. You could follow the following lifestyle changes which could help with dealing with acne: - Avoid greasy, oily, deep fried, junk food items, also avoid alot of sweets and items such as ghee. Have a low glycemic load diet. - Wash your face regularly with a Ph balanced face wash - Wipe your face with a clean cloth when oil accumulates. - Avoid touching your face regularly. Wash your hands properly before touching the face. - Take a zinc supplementation tablet which has shown to help with acne - Consumption of omega-3 fatty acids which are present in fish has shown to help - Reduce stress(yoga, meditate, sleep) - Exercise regularly (minimum 30 mins) If the condition persists or worsens visit the ER
