Hi, my son who is 7.5 yrs old has swollen tonsils. He is also unable to breath from his nose so he always mouth breaths. We are afraid that this will affect his growth and may so cause oral issues. Also it may affect his facial growth if not treated soon. We have consulted many doctors and many of them have suggested to go for tonsilictomy and adenomectomy. However, we have heard that these surgeries may affect the child's growth and immune system and should be avoided untill the teen age. We are so much confused and unable to take a decision. Would be very greatfull for any help in deciding this.
