Swollen lymph node in neck for 2 months?
I've had a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck for roughly 2 months with no accompanying side effects. I went to a Doctor 2 weeks ago and got blood work done, everything was normal, no infection although she put me on antibiotics just in case. The lymph node was still swollen so she ordered an ultrasound, the sonographer and Doctor said the lymph node was of normal size. I can't really accept this as it's about the size of a kidney bean. What reason other than cancer could it be?
In case you have swollen glands which persist even after antibiotics, you have to get them excised and examined. You need to consult a Hematologist right away. It will also help to know if you have excessive fatigue, weight loss, unusual sweating, pain in the glands, etc. It is also important to get a physical examination. May be if you can share exactly what the physician told you, I will have a better idea.
