Swelling and pain after removing cast

My mom(age 52),broke her right hand below the elbow joint,got cast immediately after the incident,she was doing well while she had cast.after4 week,the cast is removed but still has swelling and pain.she is using crepe bandage as advised with oral medicine.but things are not improving,it's been more than 8days since cast removed.please suggest!!
