Suffering from Somataform disorder
Sir , past two years I'm suffering from somatoform disorder . Already gone through many prescriptions , initially I was taking consultation from neurologist as I was feeling pain in one side of my body , like my left side hand, leg. Also was feeling neck pain. Last yr as per Nimhans report came to know somataform so started taking consultation from psychiatrist and psychologist .after still my situation was not good . Please provide suggestions. Whenever I'm walking strong dizziness and sadness feeling. Also panic attacks coming .
Since you are already on treatment from psychiatrist at NIMHANS.. if there is no good response better consult again, because
1) Your history would have been taken in detail and summarised, during first consultation and you need not repeat everything again to another doctor
2)It's a frequent possibility that you might not respond to treatment initially..
if nothing works out, you may also request for change of unit or take online consultation.

To be very honest somatoform is a very chronic illness which need constant treatment. there are many medications which are helpful depending on the symptoms and patient profile. If you can elaborate, what are the medication you are using currently that will help us to understand the situation much better. you must know no depression and anxiety are the comorbid illness of somatoform disorder. I suggest you to consult for detailed evaluation and management plans thank you
