Suffering from OCD

Actually i got accidently hit in my head by an iron rod very hard nearly 5 months ago. I became unconscious for few seconds and then i back to normal after 4-5 minutes. Then i searched in google about head injury and there it is written as " People who get head injury, should avoid sleep because if they sleep then they might go into coma and all etc etc.So , I have got a fear to sleep and being unable to sleep for nearly 2 months. So I decided to do a ct scan of brain in order to check if everything is all right. The report is normal. The doctor said that I am okay. But, since i was having fear to sleep for about 2 months so it became a habit and despite of doctors being telling me that your brain is ok ......I am unable to sleep due to the fear of dying in coma. So, now also I am unable to sleep due to this fear and that is why it is affecting my mental as well as physical health. My doctor told me that it is a part of ocd.Does it is really ocd? Please help me out...I am helpless.

Hello I understand your concern. From the little history you've mentioned, it seems you've developed excessive fear disproportionate to the actual danger. It has been affecting your sleep and obviously your quality of life. It needs treatment. Before initiating any treatment we have to discuss a few things with you in detail. Kindly consult.
Next Steps
consult

Based on limited information this doesn't seem like ocd. Most likely adjustment disorder. But still needs thorough checking.
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist.

Please consult a psychiatrist at the earliest for detailed evaluation and management. Also take the medications as adviced. Disturbed sleep can further aggravate the mental illness, hence timely intervention is needed.
