Stopping anticoagulants before surgery
My father is going to hernia surgery and he had undergone mechanical heart valve replacement 5 years before.
Now anticoagulants are going to be stopped 2 days before the surgery and for the replacement, they are going to give some medicine for controlling blood clotting for those 2days and also right 1hr after surgery.
He will be admitted at ICU for those 2days
I wanted to know is there any risk factor?
