Hello Doctor. I am taking ppi. Now I need to do stool antigen test for hpylori to conform eradication. Do i need to stop ppi before taking the test or can i take the test immediately? Please suggest.

H. Pylori is not eradicated by PPI alone. Needs an antibiotic + PPI regime called triple therapy or quadruple therapy. Stool Ag test is used 4 weeks after completion of regime. Antibiotics should be stopped 4 weeks prior and PPI should be stopped 1-2 weeks prior to taking the test for best results
