Stiff finger after proximal phalanx surg

2021-11-29 20:49:52
It's been 8 weeks after my index finger surgery. After 6 weeks k-wires were removed, it was inserted through PIP joints. I m going through physiotherapy but no good results. My finger is stiff and little bent always and there's to much pain while physio. How long will it be like this ? Or this will be permanent? Will this be permanent or will get my motion back.

Yes it's very hard to have a stiff and painful finger after surgery. After injury and surgery, stiffness in finger is the norm. Hope you have your post surgery xray to see if all went well in the surgery. Movement recovery is painful and gradual slow process. It can take months to years in some cases and few weeks in others. Keep pushing your pain boundary. That's the way you will gain range. Also take painkillers 1 hr before physio so the pain during and after physio is reduced and you can do better.
Next Steps
I can help with a pain injection which drastically reduced pain so you can easily focus on physio
Health Tips
get your movement back
