Hello dear patient, steroids are given in selected respiratory conditions to suppress the inflammatory response of the body. And yes it increases wbc or tlc numbers, but the treatment depends upon the doctors decision when and how the medicines are to be used. Doctor is not trained to decrease the wbc levels but to treat the patient so merely wbc levels are not indicative of a patients health status. I advise you to consult the doctor if you have any doubts like this, before leaving the treatment midway. Tc
