R: Rest the foot
I: Ice application. Will help reduce swelling and reduce pain.
C: Compression. Use crepe bandage on the injured foot
E: Elevation. Keep the foot elevated on a pillow to allow drainage of the swelling. It will help reduce swelling.
Swelling can occur due to damage to soft tissue, ligaments, or a fracture.
However as you were able to weight bear on your foot and carry out activities, it is less likely that it would be a fracture. But a thorough examination is required to rule out the same.

Proper examination and Xray will be required to differentiate between sprained ligaments or a fracture.
