Ideally u need to sleep study to rule out sleep apnea which can be either obstructive or far more complex like central apnea. Depending upon the severity your sleep physician may offer your cpap machine therapy along with lifestyle modification

Snoring along with excess daytime sleepiness and waking up at nights due to difficulty in breathing can be obstructive sleep apnoea(OSA). Also if you are overweight or drink too much alcohol, you have higher risk of having OSA. Kindly get a sleep study done to confirm the diagnosis of OSA. Once it is confirmed you can take CPAP therapy during nights, that is pressure given through a mask to keep your airways open during sleep so that your snoring stops. But before providing you CPAP therapy, the sleep study is a must to assess what pressure you will be requiring during sleep. No oral medications are required for your problem. Hope you find this information helpful.
