2 years ago my mother had an USG, when we found out that she had 12mm gallbladder stone. But she has never had any symptoms even now. Do we really need to do the surgery ?

Is she diabetic.does she have gastritis or indigestion history. Because these symptoms can be due to stone also.if no problem at all, wait and watch.once consult general surgeon

Asymtommatic gall stones can be ignored until and unless any symptoms of indigestion , chest burn ,  or any pain in right upper abdomen approach to surgeon and seek immediate advise.
Next Steps
If the patient is not in immediate reach of hospitals , travelling any other country then better to go for LAPAROSCOPIC surgery ..
