Sharp needle like pain in left knee

I am regular workout person, last 2 weeks i am having sharp needle like pain in left leg while doing lunges specially. Normally while doing day to day activities I don't feel pain. Only while lunges I have this severe pain. I took 2-3 days gap and again did still have pain . Should I visit doctor. Is there any home remedies i Cana do.

If pain is restricted to knee only then you need clinical examination And pain in whole leg might be due to muscular problems
