Is he diabetic?  Proper history of patient is needed to find d cause of pain and to plan a treatment. Mean while u can just tryout hot water fermentation and leg elevation with pillows under

Widely taking a guess that his pain might be radiating from back. Physiotherapist ‘s consultation is advisable.
Next Steps
If he can make him lie on the stomach. It may give slight pain or discomfort in the back. But on the whole of his leg pain is better he may continue to be in the position for 15-20 mins

Tell your father to lie down on his back with 1-2 pillows under both knees. If this reduces his pain then he needs supervised physiotherapy.

Ur father need proper assessment. Get blood profile done for any deficiency. Also meet the Physiotherapist who can help in strengthening of leg muscles.
