Severe back pain in the left sie

I have been having a back pain since 2 weeks now. Initially i felt it was some pull due to workout in the gym so rested the back with no exercise for a week. Previous SAturday, i went to the gym and tried lifting light weights but couldnt without pain. So stopped and took complete break from the gym for a week. Yesterday, just stretched the back for sometime. Facing severe pain. Can feel something like a swelling of the nerve in the back on the left side accompanied by severe pain.

Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.
