Seek screening for cardiomyopathy?

My husband's brother had sudden death from cardiomyopathy last year at the age of 43. He had no prior symptoms. Autopsy results revealed his heart at 3 times the size of a normal heart. (910 gms in weight) My husband was tested with an echo earlier this year. He is fine. My question is should we have our 3 children screened? We have a girl age 21, and two boys 19 and 17.

Though nothing to worry, but it is a good idea to get an echo done of all your children, it would put your mind at ease. Dr Nishith Chandra, MD,DM, FSCAI(USA) Director Interventional Cardiologist Fortis Escorts Heart Institute NEW DELHI I N D I A
