Hi - I have been to a doctor after suffering with a long flu (aching bones, cough, ear ache - I have been working very long hours for about 6 months) I was given zithromax for 5 days but no significant change - the cough is no longer in my chest but dry and my ear infection has not improved/

You seem to be suffering from post viral cough which is common type of dry cough syndrome after an attack of viral upper respiratory tract infection. Usually it will resolve on its own within few days. You can use strepsils like lozenges, steam inhalation and dry cough syrups for few days
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
