Hi sir,
It effected both the cheeks as you have mentioned parotitis . Since 6 days it's there . When I consult doctor , he suggested some antibiotics , but it seems no help . Then he ask me to go for test CBC , some other 2 tests .Now he is suggesting me to take test sample in infected area and want to send lab.i don't feel he is taking in right d
Acute parotitis is usually a self limiting viral infection and only symptomatic treatment is required. Usually ultrasound is advised to rule out any abscess formation. Regular antibiotics, analgesics and good oral hygiene will help you to overcome the symptoms. Fine needle aspiration cytology is not usually required
