Its called as nystagmus. And the head posture is because at that position his nystagmus is at its minimum and vision is at its best . Thats y he is keeping that position. If it is a recent onset nystagmus then neuroimaging has to be done to rule out intracranial lesions There are corrective surgeries available for nystagmus. Consult a pediatric Ophthalmologist (squint specialist).
