How old your baby is now and weight now? Rop screening is better than any treatment. Your laser barrage will not have hereditary factor on your baby

In India, ROP screening is done to infants born under 2kg , 34 weeks Gestational age. So your baby fits this criteria and is essential to get an ROP screening done.

Babies born prematurely between 32-35 weeks with birth weight of 1500-2000 gms are at risk of retinopathy of prematurity and are advised to get a ROP Screening done with an ophthalmologist specialist. Retinal holes can occur due to various reasons like high myopia or can be idiopathic as well. That is not correlated with ROP risk of your child but the child should go for ROP screening
