Right Toe swelled up near joint

A couple of days back I was playing football and the other player stamped on my right toe near the joint. After that it's been paining, swelled up and also turned reddish black. I suspect some injury to the cartilage as the toe is moving fine in all directions but there is continous pain on bending it down or if any weight is put over that area

I think you should get an x-ray of the foot AP and oblique views focusing on the toes to rule out a fracture and consult an orthopedic surgeon for appropriate management.
