If redness and thickening inside the cheek has been present for almost 3 months, it should be properly checked.
Since irritation reduced after removal of metal crowns and fillings, it may have been due to local irritation or reaction. However, because it is still present and changing in color, it needs evaluation.
Any oral lesion that lasts more than 2–3 weeks should be examined by a dentist or oral medicine specialist. In some cases, further tests may be required to confirm the diagnosis.
