Right hand numbness

My mother age is 45 , she always says that her right hand is always being Numbness when she do any work along with pain. What's the problem Dr. , Is this serious?

Is she diabetic or thyroid disease patient. She has compression over nerves supplying hand. Causes can be compression of median nerve at carpal tunnel ( wrist ). Or cervical Radiculopathy.

There is a possibility of compression of one of the nerves which is supplying hands.. most common being median nerve, a condition called as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.. Does the pain/numbness  increase when she bends her hand at wrist level..

She needs to get some investigations done to find out the exact cause.. A test called Nerve Conduction study.
