Right elbow coronoid fracture

My husband met with an accident and we got the xray done for his right elbow. Doctor has told that it is a coronoid fracture (ant. capsular anvusion). He has also written in prescription that there is tenderness over lateral side and mild gap in radiocapitellar joint on xray. We have got the plaster done. But doctor has suggested to do MRI WITH CT CORELATION as well to check for ligament rupture/removal. Please let me know if it's required or plaster will help him in the recovery. Have attached the x-ray images as well. Please suggest.

Always better to have MRI done. It would help in better understanding the condition of ligaments.
