Retina Deatachment

I had right eye retina detachment surgery on sutarday (24-10-2020) that OD PPV+endolaser or cryo+endolaser because of gas I could not see presently. My question is I wanted take second opinion & check again this with OCT test now? now possible check with OCT? It will give clear picture in this stage or shall I do it after some time ? second question normally we should sleep Tommy for few days but doctor insists to sleep on left side is it ok?

Hi. As you have undergone vitreoretinal surgery with gas injection . Your vision will improve once gas disappears which eventually will happen in 1 to 2 months time . Also it’s better to maintain face down position for 8 to 10 hours a day for 2 weeks . Good luck Dr neeraj sanduja

Hello, If they have placed air bubble ,you will have to sleep in whatever position your doctor has advised. Until it dissolves. Position of sleep depends on where the bubble is,or the area of retina detached. It is advisable to follow your surgeon's advise and take second opinion after 6 weeks.
