Hello,
First of all, please try not to panic. It is not possible to diagnose Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) or any precancerous condition accurately from photographs alone.
Since you have a history of pan masala use, stopping the habit is the most important step you can take, so you have already made a positive decision.
OSMF is usually diagnosed based on:
⢠Reduced mouth opening
⢠Burning sensation while eating spicy foods
⢠Stiffness of the cheeks
⢠Palpable fibrous bands inside the mouth
⢠Clinical examination by an Oral Medicine Specialist
From the photographs alone, I cannot confirm OSMF or identify any cancerous change. However, if you have persistent burning sensation, reduced mouth opening, non-healing ulcers, white/red patches, or difficulty in eating, you should undergo a detailed clinical examination.
I would strongly recommend consulting an Oral Medicine & Radiology Specialist or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for proper evaluation. Early assessment is always better, especially in individuals with a history of pan masala or tobacco use.

Next Steps
Schedule an oral examination and continue complete abstinence from pan masala, gutkha, tobacco, and areca nut products.
Health Tips
Most patients with a history of pan masala use become anxious after noticing changes in their mouth. A clinical examination is often reassuring and helps identify whether treatment or simply monitoring is required.
