Some foods like avocados, bananas, green leafy vegetables and pumpkin skins are very beneficial. Whole wheat bread and vegetable proteins like legumes, pulses and sprouted grains are a good alternative source of proteins, nutrients and fibres. They reduce the risk of forming kidney stones. No crash diets! Dieting is believed to increase the uric acid in the blood stream and thus increases the risk of kidney stones. A healthy balanced diet is the best way to stay healthy and prevent kidney stones.
