Removing stretches marks

A long time ago, I had an operation for fracture of my hand, so after the operation, there are stitch marks left on the skin of my hand, so please tell me the solution to remove them from the root or is there any cream by which the stitch marks can be removed from the root, please suggest.  because this makes me feel awkward.
