But now my family is threatning me that they will.commit suicide if i go with my love..

I empathise with you. It is natural to see a resistance from conservative parents for marriage proposals when you both are from different cultural background. they will mostly think from family status, economic status, social status and so on before narrowing down to the groom himself!
Persuasion is something that you have to try!
Take the help of premarital counsellors if the need be!
