Particular batch of any drugs or vaccines gets tested in Govt approved labs, before being released in the market , hence you will always see the batch number and date of manuf. in a med or vaccine or other medical products.
The batch number with date of manufacter is written when any vaccine is given, in OPD or vaccine card of the pt as a record and should be asked and taken by any one who takes vaccine .some centers even put the vial sticker on the vaccine card as a proof.
Most well reputed multinational drug companies ,present in India follow GMP , and get approval for GMP certification. Bio med is also c GMP certified company.
Now for the vaccines , OPV and Rabis vaccine.
OPV is trivalent live attenuated vaccine , hence there are chances of vaccine associated polio, ( 1 case in 1 million doses given ). since 2016 OPV is now bivalent ie polio virus 2( probable cause of vaccine associated polio) has been removed from from OPV ( ie only 2 poilio virus strain are now in OPV. ( type 1 and type 3). Chances of contamination of vaccine are very rare and as OPV is live ( but attenuated ) chances of contamination is extremly rarely possible.
Rabies vaccine - prepared in vero cell, Rabies vaccine is inactivated vaccine..ie not live virus , its killed virus in the vaccine. Hence rabies vaccine associated rabies does not occur( CDC ,Atlanta,USA, Reference) .
