My brother is suspected with glaucoma but now his eye pressure is normal. But today he got some acute skin allergy because of some medication of allergy only. So skin specialist gave him steorid 8mg medicine for 2 times a day for 5 days. He told to doctor about his condition. What should he do. Does steorid medication can increase his eye pressure.

For acute condition you may need to take medication as advised.  keep getting eye pressure checked regularly while on treatment

Chronic use of steroids are not Advised in glaucoma. However, pl use glaucoma drugs continuously as advised.it is advisable to taper the steroids. pl consult ophthalmologist for further evaluation and treatment.

There is no problem in taking steroids for a few days to control an acute allergic reaction.
