If someone you low dose beta blocker 10 mg for few months like  4-7  month can it cause first degree heart block if they are using for anxiety and no heart problem

Generally the answer is no Beta blockers itself dont cause heart blocks if given in a therapeutic dose and range But if the patient has a pre existing heart blocks then surely it can aggravate and hence then not given Hope it was helpful

10 mg is very low dose,but why do u want to use propanolol for anxiety there are much better meds like fluoxetine escitalopram available

Beta blockers do not cause heart block, rather decrease the heart rate.low dose beta blockers like propranolol are typically given in anxiety with tachycardia.However beta blockers are contraindicated in Second degree heart block
