Hello You can share your concerns with your paediatrician and ask for anesthetic gel while catheterisation.

You can apply lignocaine gel before passing the urinary catheter and prilox cream(local anaesthetic) before insertion of IV cannula

Greetings 2-year-old undergoing urine reflux (VUR) scans, ask the radiology team/ doctor to apply a topical lidocaine numbing gel to the urethra before catheterization to minimize physical pain.

Tell your doctor to apply Prilox gel to the catheter so that numbness will be so no pain

Apply lignocaine gel at time of procedure .

Visit physically to nearby pediatrician.

Before the procedure, ensure your child is well-rested and hydrated (unless instructed otherwise). Carry a favorite toy or comfort item, and use distraction with rhymes or videos. Stay calm, as children often sense parental anxiety. Ask the radiology team if a topical anesthetic gel for catheter insertion is available. Most children cry during catheterization, but the procedure is brief and does not cause long-term harm.
