What happens in case of third molar is that, eruption path of this tooth is mostly angulated, so it causes hurting of surrounding soft tissues or even adjacent teeth... so xray is adviced to see the eruption.. depending on that treatment varies as extraction, coronoplasty (i.e. rounding off sharp edges)

Hello dear, Cheek bite is a common problem while eruption of third molar. some time it is solved by just rounding of the sharp cusps of newly erupted wisdom tooth. otherwise if it reoccurs again and again you may have to get it extracted after an Xray. Best longterm option would be extraction. Third molar or wisdom tooth erupt at a position which is difficult to accommodate at a present jaw setup.

We need to check for lower counterpart third molar. If it is missing, extract this tooth. If this tooth is erupting towards cheek, and out of alignment, consider Orthodontic treatment.
