Rat bite on right hand thumb

2021-06-30 06:28:35
A rat bit me at around 3am today. It bit me on the tip of my right hand thumb. There was not even slight bleeding. Couldn't even see the bite marks on close examination. I immediately dipped my thumb in Dettol and then washed my hand with soap. There was no problem in the morning too. There is only a little discomfort in the thumb right now. I had a tetanus shot last year. Do I need to do anything for the bite?

If your immunisation is complete and you took tetanus shot last year then you dont need to get vaccinated anymore. Keep the bite area clean and dry, apply neosporin powder or betadine ointment 2-3 times a day
