I have been bit by a rat in sleep. What needs to be done if it's actually a rat bite and what are the effects it can cause on human body

Please take tetanus toxoid injection if you have not taken it before recently. Wash the area thoroughly in running water. Apply a bandage. The effects vary from nothing to diseases like rat bite fever depending on the rat. It is highly recommended to take tt anyhow
