Hi Doctor, I completed my 5 rabies vaccine doses and HRIG 5 weeks back for a possible exposure due to a bat that caressed my cheeks. Now after 5 weeks, another bat hit my middle finger on left hand yesterday night 10:00 pm: Can I take booster doses to be in safer side. Kindly advise

Since you completed a full 5-dose rabies vaccine course with HRIG just 5 weeks ago, you have good protective immunity at this point. For a new bat exposure within this timeframe, standard protocol recommends 2 booster doses (on Day 0 and Day 3 of the new exposure) rather than repeating the full course. Wash the site thoroughly with soap and water immediately if you haven't already — this alone reduces risk significantly.
