Question regarding blood pressure
My mom fell unconscious in the morning. I gave her lemon water with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4th teaspoon sugar powder. At that time her BP was 110/80. But later when she checked in hospital BP was 140/70 but the hospital asked to get checked up in the clinic. In clinic when checked her BP was 150/90.
My question is can salt increase the BP count?

Taking salt once will not raise blood pressure. To know the correct reading take BP reading after a good night's sleep. If the reading is high , measure it for 3 days continuously. If the reading is more than 130/90 on all days, we consider the patient to be hypertensive.
