No the bacteria does not remain permanently in the body.
The antibodies report that are persistently positive can be positive because of other reasons.
Distance not mean that you have any infection necessarily.
But it is possible that during the last report you had some infection and during this repeat report you may be having another salmonella/ typhoid infection coincidentally.
Whether you need antibiotics or not would depend on your symptoms and not just the report.
