Main side effects are
1. Nausea and vomitings
2. Loss of appetite
3. Hairloss
4. Decrease in blood counts like hemoglobin,platelets,white blood cells further leading to infections
- nausea and vomiting - usually ur oncologist will.keep u on anti emetics
- loss of appetite - having food in small quantities but. multiple times will help
- hairloss - unfortunately this is unavoidable. But usually it will grow back after chemo cycles are completed
- blood counts- ideally u r supposed to monitor CBP every week and if there is any fall as per the need , should receive medication or transfusion as per ur oncologist advise
Look out symptoms: fever, cough or loose stools ( can happen because of infection) , any bleeding gums or rash...
If any such things happen immediately consult ur oncologist
